Bill Edwards is a former D2 wrestler for King University, graduating in 2009 with a degree in Physics. He wrestled his high school career in New York and was a multiple time Olympic style state placer as well as a qualifier for the Empire State Games. He later competed in MMA, winning the PFC welterweight championship for Stryker Martial Arts Academy in Bristol.
Previously, Bill has served as an assistant for the King University women’s team, Head MMA instructor at Stryker, head middle school coach for Virginia Middle School, and, most recently, as an assistant and now head coach at Abingdon High School. In addition, he spends time coaching for Shad Rissler and the Stronghold Wrestling Club in Calera, AL.
Coach Bill currently lives near downtown Abingdon and works for Contech Engineered Solutions.
